Why most people print with PLA over ABS.

The difference if you are trying to get into 3D printing is that ABS is simply more durable. This is in regards to temperature, moisture, longevity, and a lot of other factors, but at the end of the day it simply lasts longer and is more durable. ABS is easier to print with if you are printing connectors like screws, and bolts. ABS can have a bad smell and it can be kind of nasty if you leave it in a closed room while printing for a couple hours. PLA does not have this issue. Without a heated bed ABS will curl upward on the first few layers. So PLA again is easier to print with for those starting out.

It used to be that most printers were setup to print with ABS in the past and now it has happened due to the ease of printing with PLA more printers distributed are PLA only like our own Mini-Kossel we have for sale.
